Savor the Moment

I’m taking a moment for some quiet reflection in the midst of cleaning a rental property that my partner Andrew’s mother owns in Seal Harbor, Maine. Is this a fun job? Not especially. But when I think about it, right now it’s just me and Andrew, working together as a team, and it’s nice.

It’s nice to know you have support in life. I find these days, it is all too easy to get caught up in the chaos of everyday life. Despite being a spiritual person, I still get stressed, angry, and worked up. These are all indicative of the human condition. Even the most grounded people experience feelings of impatience and anxiety. It’s natural.

What matters more is how we respond to it. Stop. Take a moment. Breathe. It’s a beautiful thing to savor the moment, no matter where you are or what you’re doing. Cherish what you have.

Right now, in this moment, as I write this out on my phone, I’m grateful that I have someone in my life who will help me to feel grateful. He will support me. He will make me happy to be alive. And he does.
